New Residential Construction

Planning to build a new home in the area? Here are a few simple steps to get you started:

  1. Contact us at NSE@evergreenmetro.org to find out if your property is included in the District and whether or not service is available to you. Check out the District Rules and Regulations page to view a map of the Districts’ boundaries.

  2. View our District Rate Information page to determine the estimated cost of providing service to your new property. Water and sewer tap fees can be found in the District Rate Cards at the bottom of the page. Please note, all inspection and connection fees are dependent on the size of the service line and are subject to change. Please contact us at NSE@evergreenmetro.org for an estimated cost of these fees.

  3. Contact your local fire district to find out the fire suppression service requirements for your new build. This will affect what type of cross-connection/backflow prevention system will be required as well as the size of the tap required. For more information on cross-connection/backflow prevention, visit the cross-connection page

  4. Review and fill out a Residential Tap Application.

  5. Reach out to contractors and receive bids for the installation of your new service lines. All contractors excavating within 10 feet on either side of the District’s infrastructure must be licensed and bonded  with the District prior to work being done. Once you have chosen your contractor, have them contact the District to ensure that they meet the requirements for licensing and bonding, and they are knowledgeable of the standards and specifications for the installation of new service lines.

New Commercial Construction/ New Business/ Change in Use

All new commercial construction and changes to existing commercial businesses must enter into a System Design Engineering Analysis agreement. Please contact us at NSE@evergreenmetro.org for more information. The number of water and sewer taps required to serve a commercial business are determined on a water allocation of 7,600 gallons per tap. Tap costs can be found on the Rates and Fees page. All inspection and connection fees depend on the service line size required to adequately serve the property. It is recommended you contact the local Fire District for fire suppression requirements, as this will affect the tap's size and cross connection/backflow requirements
