Water Resources

The Water Resources Department provides support to the Evergreen Metropolitan District, the West Jefferson Metropolitan District and the Kittredge Sanitation and Water District by

  • Guiding builders and developers through the service application process and providing information on how best to serve their new build with water and wastewater. New Construction?

 

  • Dispensing metering equipment and the administration of fire hydrant meter permits. New Meter Installation and Fire Hydrant Permit Information.

 

  • Assisting in the sampling and monitoring of water quality within the Bear Creek Watershed from Summit Lake on Mount Blue Sky through Lakewood, as well as installing, maintaining, and providing support for water quality improvement projects in partnership with the Bear Creek Watershed Association. www.BearCreekWatershed.org

  • Managing the District’s pretreatment program through monitoring of wastewater effluent quality to ensure the safety of plant operations and workers from potentially harmful wastewater. Pretreatment Information.

 

  • Monitoring snowpack, precipitation, and climate data to assist in predicting and identifying potential water shortage conditions. 

 

  • Encouraging conservation and water resource protection through education and outreach in the community. We provide support to customers in identifying water waste through leak detection and landscape/irrigation best practices. 

 

  • Coordinating, planning, documenting, and communicating with water rights administrators.
