Sewer Main Repair

Sewer Main Rehabilitation Project

Much of the infrastructure in the Districts was installed many years ago.  Many of our sewer mains are clay pipes which can deteriorate as time passes. Some of these mains are deteriorating and can have a lot of root infiltration. The District prefers either replaced or fix the pipes before issues begin to arise, like sewer main backups.Picture of clay sewer main with deterioration and roots coming through the pipe.

We have hired Insituform Technologies to perform rehabilitation on some of these sewer mains in the District. They repair these pipes by installing a CIPP (Cure in Place) Liner inside the pipe. After the liner is installed, they allow the liner to cure, then they install a robotic cutter inside the pipe that returns to each service connection to re-connect each customers’ service connection or tap.

By rehabbing the sewer mains, we can save money and extend the life of the lines.

This will cause a temporary interruption of sewer service for the affected customers in the project area. The contractor has taken the responsibility for notifying the customers of the timing and duration of the interruption of service.
